our-grant-recipients.jpg

The Office of Undergraduate Research hosted a reception to celebrate undergraduate research grant recipients for the 2018-2019 academic year. Of 47 proposals submitted, 31 were selected with a total of 32 students participating in the research. Of those 31 proposals, 18 are STEM-related, and 13 are non-STEM.

President Evans addressed grant recipients stating “each of you represents the most innovative and motivated undergraduates that LU has to offer and you should be very proud of your achievements so far. By participating in undergraduate research, each of you is given a unique opportunity to grow not only academically, but personally. Through exploring your interests through this research, you will gain valuable one-on-one experience with leading members of your field of study.”

This is the sixth year of the program with a total of $430,000 awarded. The students represent all five colleges and 16 departments on campus. 33 faculty mentors will be involved in the projects to be presented in April 2019.
