LU hosts Texas Workforce Commission Camp Code for Girls

Lamar University will host Camp Code for Girls, a one-week no cost day camp sponsored by the Texas Workforce Commission designed to provide computer coding/programming summer camps for gifted and talented female students entering grades 6-8 in Fall 2018. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m., May 18.

The camp will offer hands-on experiences that will provide challenging and innovative concepts in learning, problem solving, and analytical skills while fostering an interest in computer coding/programming. 

Three camps are offered: 6th Grade Camp Code for Girls (entering Fall 2018), July 2-7, (off on July 4th), 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day; 7th Grade Camp Code for Girls (entering Fall 2018) July 16-21, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and 8th Grade Camp Code for Girls (entering Fall 2018), July 30-August 4, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
