Welcome to the LEA Portal Knowledge Page

The LEA Portal is now available for Lamar University students, faculty, and staff, and other users.

This portal replaces the existing password reset site and provides a simpler, self-service location for managing your Lamar Electronic Account (LEA). For new users, you will receive an activation email with LEA account claim instructions once your account is created in our system. Follow the instructions given in the email. Or, you can visit the LEA Portal page and click Claim your LEA.
  • Why isn't my personal email address recognized when I try to recover my username or password?

The LEA Portal uses the personal email address that is currently on file in Banner to help verify your identity when recovering your username or resetting your password.

If your personal email address is not recognized:

    1. Log in to Self-Service Banner from the LU Connect page and verify that your personal email address is correct.

    2. If needed, update your personal email address in Self-Service Banner.

    3. Allow 30 minutes for the updated information to synchronize with the LEA Portal.

    4. After 30 minutes, try the username recovery or password reset process again.

If you need immediate assistance or cannot wait for the update to synchronize, please contact the IT Service Desk for help with your LEA username or password.

  • I never received my LEA account claim email. What should I do?
    • Check your Spam or Junk mail folder
    • Verify you are checking the correct personal email account that LU has on file for you.

If you still cannot locate the email, contact the LU IT Service Desk.

  • I accidentally closed the browser during the account claim. What do I do?

Most account claim processes can be resumed by returning to the claim link and entering your information again.

If you receive an error, clear your browser cache and restart the browser prior to clicking the link from your email. Another option is to access the LEA Portal from the LU Connect page and selecting Claim your LEA.

If you are unable to continue, contact the LU IT Service Desk.

  • I am getting "We are sorry...Cookie not found" error. What do I do?
You will need to go back to the login page. There is no need to clear the cache.
  • When do I need to use my personal email vs my recovery email?

Your personal email address is used during the account onboarding process and is required when setting up your LEA account. This email is also required to reset your password or lookup your LEA username.

Your recovery email address is required as an account recovery method that can help you regain access to your account if you forget your username or password.

When you need to verify your identity, you may be given the option to receive a verification code through either your personal email address or your recovery email address, provided both are available on your account.
